This release introduces a new Set Noise Control Mode action in the Shortcuts app. This action allows you to programmatically switch between Noise Cancellation, Transparency, Adaptive, and Off for your connected AirPods Pro. You can use this action within any shortcut or, more powerfully, as part of a Personal Automation that runs based on triggers like time of day, location, or connecting to a specific Wi-Fi network.

To get started, you can create a Personal Automation that changes the noise control mode when you connect to your home Wi-Fi:

For the most seamless experience, always choose the Run Immediately option when creating your automation. This ensures the noise control mode changes in the background without requiring you to tap a notification. You can also combine this action with others, such as playing a specific playlist and setting the volume when you arrive at the gym.
Automating noise control with Shortcuts adds a new layer of intelligence to your AirPods Pro. By setting up triggers that match your daily routines, you can make your listening experience more convenient and context-aware. This feature allows your audio to adapt to you, rather than requiring you to adapt to your surroundings.
